Localization Management

By default the USU Portal including the portal pages, dashlets and drawers are localized in the following languages:

English
German
Italian
French
Spanish
Dutch

The USU Portal uses local saved translation files. These translation files are included in the installation package.

The language selection is user-dependent and is done via the User Management.

The USU Portal version 3.1.0 is able to connect to to maintain the localizations of the application.

Notice

Localization of the USU Portal in this context means everything except portal pages, dashlets, drawers and menu.

Portal pages, dashlets, drawers and the menu can only be localized within the administration tools of the USU Portal.

The automatic initialization of with USU Portal localization is not implemented. This connection must be configured manually:

Make sure is installed and configured.
Go to USU KnowledgeHub > Tools > Downloads and select category Service Management > Self-Service Portal.
Download the translation file usu-portal_translations_export-v3.json
Go to and login as administrator:
User with rights for client ulm_service and roleglobal:admin
Go to Global administration > Import and import the file usu-portal_translations_export-v3.json

Now you have to configure the USU Portal to connect to :

Open charts/usu-portal/values.yaml and set ulm:enabled true
Change values of ulm:ulmExtUrl and ulm:ulmIntUrl to correct values of your installation.
