Set up quantity

Depending on the nature of an offer, quantity may or may not be relevant. A new offer is by default created as Quantity not relevant. Quantity relevance is used as one of offer list filtering attributes.

If offer quantity is relevant, it can be set up in one of the following ways:

  • The end user will be able to enter a quantity value.

  • Quantity will be automatically calculated from an offer parameter.

The parameter must be an object type parameter that is mandatory and allows selection of multiple objects. For example, number of requested licenses can be derived from the number of selected users.

To set up offer quantity:

  1. Open the offer in offer detail and switch to the edit mode.

  2. Expand the Quantity section.

  3. For a quantity-relevant offer, switch on the Quantity is relevant toggle control and proceed to the next step.

  4. Use Quantity field type to select between editable and calculated quantity.

  5. If quantity is editable:

    1. Specify a label to be used for the quantity field. If left empty, term Quantity will be displayed.

    2. Use the Defined values toggle control to determine whether the user will enter a value or select it from a defined set.

      1. If Defined values is set to No, specify number of decimal places to be used for the entered value, minimum and maximum allowed quantity and a default value.

      2. If Defined values is set to Yes, specify the set of values (separated by space) and a default value (must be one of the values in the set).

  6. If quantity is calculated from business object parameter:

    1. Specify a label to be used for the quantity field. If left empty, term Quantity will be displayed.

    2. Specify tooltip for the quantity field.

    3. Select the parameter which will be used for quantity calculation. (See explanation above.)

  7. Click Update offer at the top of Offer detail to save the changes.

End user perspective

  • If quantity is not relevant, no quantity field is displayed for the offer.

  • If quantity is relevant, the offer is shown with a specific quantity field. The entered or calculated quantity then affects the total price of the offer.

    • If quantity is editable, offer summary provides a field in which quantity can either be entered or selected from a set of defined values.

    • If quantity is calculated, offer summary displays a non-editable field containing the number of objects selected in the linked parameter.
